Innovation In Action 2011

Since this year, Volvo IT has become a partner of Innovation Pioneers, a network founded in 2008 by innovation practitioners from various industries. Some colleagues from Volvo IT (Peter Fransson, Lars Bogren (TWBI), Robert Valton (AD PM, TravelHack participant) and Sandra De Lobel (Jam IT) had the opportunity to participate in the symposium Innovation in Action 2011 where it was possible for us to:

  • Share knowledge and experience with other innovative companies such as Ikea, Ericsson, Microsoft.
  • Listen to Innovation leaders and take part in their workshops eg.: Social Media for Innovation, Idea Management, Open Challenge, Commercialization and Corporate Venturing…

How can you develop a food providing system to implement in a social community? A challenge given by Ikea.Or how can we create a business model to make an application that contains all user manuals worldwide virtually? What would that be like?

  • Interact and communicate which other participants on the site.

It was a lot of hard brainstorming and work but at the same time it was very inspiring and energizing! Within Volvo IT, we try to build our Innovation Culture via the Jam IT events and by asking you to spread and communicate all your creative ideas!

    Thanks for sharing Sandra!

Here is another good piece to share experiences, it came to me thanks to Hans Rosling and is by Bill Gates at (see video too http://www.thegatesnotes.com/Topics/Development/Development-with-Impact-Innovation-and-Partnerships ) “Climate change has gradually shifted from a trend that only experts worried about to a very real issue for governments and their citizens. That’s a positive development. However, the world still hasn’t made the kinds of investments it is going to take to address climate change. We finally understand the problem, but we aren’t yet committed to the solution.

Innovation will be transformative when it comes to climate change and energy, but so far the world has been distracted from what counts on this issue in a dangerous way.”

Transportation plays a large role, sustainable transportation solutions are the vision for delivering a positive climate change. Everyone can contribute with a step and there are direct gains for health, wealth and a better planet http://www.CommuteGreener.com and like http://www.facebook.com/CommuteGreener

Live the vision. Be a driving force :-)
